…Seeks Comprehensive Reconstruction of Trade Fair Ring-Road
President of Association of Nigerian Tyre Marketers (ANTM), owners of Africa Tyre Village (ATV), Lagos International Trade Fair complex, Alhaji Issah Akanbi Mohammed, has revealed a strategic succession process going on at the complex aimed at grooming a strong generation of tyre dealers in future.
ATV is the largest single market for only new tyres and home of quality tyres for confident smooth ride on roads.
Speaking in an interview with Business Hilights in his office on Tuesday, he revealed that in the course of his administration, the association has built new 42 shops and carefully handed them over to younger members of the union that have just been freed in the training for the business.
According to him, “We decided to give out the shops to new breeds as a way of helping them grow strong in the business and take over from older members in the future with ease.
“We did consider any well-established member for the shops. The idea is to encourage the young ones instead making the rich richer in the presence of struggling youths in our midst.
“Besides, we even allow the young ones to take front shops while encouraging established ones to stay at the backs having built strong customer-base over the years. All these policies are to grow the young ones in the business.
Continuing, Alhaji Mohammed revealed that among the highlights of his administration include standing peace in the association, provision of constant electricity and water even as security has remained top-notch.
Baring his mind on the most important thing highly needed at the entire trade Fair complex, ATV chief said “Whereas we the stakeholders are aware that the new CEO of the complex, in the person of Barr. Vera Ndanusa is doing well; we would want a total reconstruction of the 5-km ring-road so as to grow the ease of doing business in the complex.
Though he recognized ongoing palliatives on the road, he made it clear that what the complex needs right now is a total reconstruction.
He further hailed the high performance of the ED, Barr. Vera Ndanusa since she came in, saying the very way and manner she handled the problems of LAWMA and Ministry of Physical Planning inversion in the complex stood her out as a general and strategic leader.
