APT President, Ilechukwu rolls out 2024 targets of his administration
The President of the Association of Progressive Traders (APT), Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, Chief Eric Ifeanyichukwu Ilechukwu on Thursday, February 15, 2024, gave a rundown of the plans of his government for the year 2024.
Addressing members of his association, who have gathered to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the association in Lagos Trade Fair complex, elated Ilechukwu said his leadership, not only as the President of APT, but also, as the chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA), worked tirelessly last year to make sure that public power supply was restored back at the complex with a new giant and upgraded transformer capable of powering every plaza in the entire Trade Fair complex.
He added that it was after restoring power in the complex that many associations, came to the reality that some of their transformers have been tempered or vandalized including APT own.
According, his administration did not waste any time in fixing the vandalized transformers so that everybody will get light.
Continuing in his address, he announced the end of cash payments to the association from this year 2024, saying only digital transactions and payments shall be allowed to maintain financial sanity in the system.
Also, Chief Ilechukwu made it clear that due to observed leakages in several blocks, his government will this year, embark on re-roofing of affected ones to end cases of leakages. He therefore advised everyone that has any kind of property atop every roof to remove them immediately so that work can start before the rains.
Chief Ilechukwu informed APTians that from this year, every Line must work with the Environmental Sanitation Committee to comply with provision of the LAWMA approved waste-bins in line with compliance to avoid Lagos State Government trouble in terms of sanitation.
The President also charged members and block officials concerned on routinely maintaining their Fire Extinguishers’ and making them operational from time to time to avoid being caught unawares.
He also revealed that his government has flagged off provision of Solar-powered street lights to largely illuminate the APT at nights. He said the project, tagged: ‘Light Up APT’ is designed to make every line and road lively during the nights and therefore called everyone to key into the project.
Chief Ilechukwu also warned members that this year, there will be no room for any form of illegal structure or attachments in the market especially in commercial areas.
Concluding, he assured the members that APT is working closely with the Trade Fair Management to resume construction activities at the new site and added that very soon work will begin.
