Barring any last minute change in decision, there are very high levels of certainity that the massive Lagos International Trade Fair complex shut down by the Lagos Waste Management Authrority (LAWMA) since Sunday, October 22, over sanitation infractionsmay be reopened any moment from now.
Credible sources from LAWMA, the Trade Fair Management Board (TFMB) and the Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA) who pleaded anonymity revealed in the last few hours, told Business Hilights that there was a joint patrol of the complex by the three parties where it was confirmed that whereas inside the plazas are deemed clean enough, the sourrounding gutters must be cleaned up as the last condition for reopening.
Whereas efforts to speak to the Chairman of Stakeholders failed as at press time, the sources further revealed that already, a team of men have been deployed to clean up all the gutters, meaning that in no distant time, the complex would be reopened for business.
Investigations showed that since the closure, businesses have been losing not less than N3bn on a daily basis.
