The President of the largest motor spare parts plaza in Africa, the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA), Hon. Ngozi Emechebe has again called on the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to remember his electoral pledges to the market and construct the remaining 600m road linking Oteyi Garden Estate in Omonile, Ado Soba, Abule Ado to Iyana-School.
Conducting the press along the road on Thursday, September 21, 2023, Emechebe recalled that His Excellency assured Trade Fair business operators and ASPMDA in particular that he will do the road when he came for campaign at ASMPDA earlier this year.
Explaining more to journalists while standing at the point where construction had stopped at Oteyi Esatate, ASPMDA President said “This is where the interlocking construction stopped at Oteyi Garden Estate, popularly called Omonile behind Trade Fair complex. This point am standing now is where the road construction stopped.
“The prayers of all of us at Lagos Trade fair and ASPMDA in particular is for Governor Sanwo-Olu, whom we know as ‘talk and do’ Governor to remember his promises and continue this road to Iyana-School. We have even measured it and its about 600m. Not up to one kilometer. But it will solve big problem. Parallel to the new road is DSS backyard and Ojo Military Cantonment.
According to him, “The Oteyi to Iyana-School, Iba road will move over 90 per cent of trade Fair traffic come from and to Agbara, Iyana-Iba, Iyana-School, Igando, Ikotu, Akesan, even Iyanapaja up to Ikeja away from the Badagry Expressway.
“I want to once again, beg our able Governor; ‘TalknaDo’ Governor. The man that clearly understoands the terrain of Lagos State to quickly come to our aid on this small but very very important road to Trade Fair and Badagry traffic solution.
“Yes, I remember I have already pleaded before him when he visited us during campaign.
“Sir, with this road connecting to Iba and that St. Joseph Abule-Ado connecting FESTAC, in fact, traffic crisis on Lagos Badagry Expressway will be a thing of the past.” ASPMDA President, Hon. Emechebe explained.
