Esosa Aihie
Data on foreign direct investment (FDI) for Nigeria, shows a bleak and downward spiral.
The bleakness of this FDI data needs to be addressed to turn Nigeria’s economic and investment fortune around.
Aihie averred that “If we fail to address the challenges and growing concerns of businesses especially those that are within our immediate control to solve like unbearable tax burden and investment unfriendly forex regime, this is the outcome we will get – investors will simply vote with their monies as to the choice of where to invest. Going by this data on foreign direct investment, it is clear that Nigeria is not a choice destination for investment.
“Start engaging and listening to investors, address their concerns to the extent possible, introduce business friendly policies and watch billions of investments flow in our direction. This is a proven principle and natural law of investment attraction 101.
