The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken to his social media handles, telling Nigerians how his administration is commissioning completed projects including roads in parts of the state.
In one of his posts weekend, he said as follows:
“Today, we commissioned the new 18.75-kilometre expressway from Eleko to Epe T-Junction, turning a two-lane rural roadway to a six-lane rigid concrete carriageway.
This construction feat marks a significant improvement in our effort to redevelop the rural road, built over 40 years ago.
“Before reconstruction, the infrastructure was in decrepit shape due to upsurge in average daily traffic volumes, subjecting road users to delay and hardship.
After commissioning the completed first phase of the road, we immediately flagged off the second phase of the road project, which will extend the construction from the Eleko axis to Abraham Adesanya Roundabout.
“The project’s second phase would however be done in two segments, for ease of funding and to reduce the traffic impact of the construction on commuters.
“The 18.6km first segment, will take off from Eleko to Awoyaya and to critical sections around Majek and Ogidan. While the second segment, which is 11km, will kick off at Ogidan, down to Abraham Adesanya Roundabout.
