Naira redesign between Emefiele & Buhari only, Minister, NASS, Eco Team unaware
Fresh discovery has emerged on the controversial circumstance surrounding the sudden redesign of Nigerian Naira.
The latest is that when the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) came to the realization that he has lost his presidential bid to the former Governor of Lagos State and got a credible intel that the former Governor has moved ‘logistics’ to states, he hurriedly devised the idea of currency redesign so as to neutralize the earlier deployed ‘Logistics’.
However, to achieve this plot expressly, the CBN boss bamboozled the Commander-in-Chief, who bought the idea even without bordering to involve the Minister of Finance, The Economic team or even the National Assembly. This many have been the reason why the duo of the Minister and Economic Team are yet to mutter any word on the lingering new notes crisis rocking the country.
The above can be deduced from a tweet by a Kano based investigative media executive, The publisher of Daily Nigerian, Mr. Jaafar Jaafar; Vis: “One thing is clear in this drama: Emefiele’s election eve naira swap is as politically motivated as DSS’ plan to charge him with terrorism financing. While Emefiele was licking his wounds over the botched presidential dream, he got an intel that BAT had moved “logistics” to states.
“Emefiele then remembered it was time Nigeria redesigned its currency. He sold the idea to the president, who approved posthaste without consulting the finance minister, economic team, National Assembly, etc. In 2012, people’s voices killed CBN’s plan to coin lower denominations.”
