Latest killings, border closure frustrate ongoing Kaduna Int’l fair

Upon the heavy assurances of strong security at the ongoing 41st edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair, there had been observable drop in buyers’ attendance.

Besides, Business Hilights Northern Bureau Chief reports that “From on the spot inferences gathered since the beginning of the fair, there had been a daily drop in people attending the fair.”

“Apart from the fears of insecurity, many of the exhibitors are complaining about the impacts of border closure. An exhibitor decried the impacts of the border closure, saying this is worst fair he ever attended and hinted that he may or may not stay till the end of the fair as there is no business.

Besides, other exhibitors’ have started counting their loses from day 4 (yesterday), saying even though bandits attacks are yet to near the area of the fair, the news of killings across the state is not encouraging

The fair is yearly organized by the Kaduna Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) with supports from the State government.
