All Hail the new Nigerian bankers’ football Champions!

Leading retail banking giant, Fidelity Bank Plc Football Team, Sunday trashed UBA Team in the 2019 Nigeria Bankers Game (NBG) football competition in Lagos.

From the blast of the kickoff whistle to the end, nerves were wracking, enthralling, grueling, entertaining, mesmerizing and ecstatic display dominated throughout by Fidelity Bank team which paid off at the end of regular time and penalty with a deserved win.

The Nnamdi Okonkwo tutored boys drew the first blood, converting from a well taken throw –in. The lead was however short lived as the Kennedy Uzoka boys benefited from a defensive mix-up to score the equalizer.

From then on, it became a ding-dong affair with neither of the teams giving anything away. That was the situation till the end of regulation time.

However, during the penalty shoot- out, the spirit of Fidelity (We keep our word) played out as the selected five shooters all scored their goals to win the golden cup.

Besides, Fidelity Bank also emerged best in the overall medal tables of the 2019 NBG.
