Rising from the recently concluded Annual General Meeting of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSCON), the National Chairman Dr Mike Emuh, has revealed that not less than 10 purpose built modular refineries will come on stream from the region before the end of the year.
Speaking at the meeting held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Emuh noted that the recent approvals of construction activities by the Federal Government for modular refineries investors in Niger Delta, encouraged indigenes to explore the business so as to create more jobs and better the lives of Niger Delta people.
The AGM, which had representatives from nine oil and gas producing states in the region, adopted the resolution that the already trained security personnel by HOSCON will be deployed to ensure the surveillance of pipelines once the modular refineries begin operation.
