Leading management and marketing consulting firm, Pearly Bleuwaters International has unveiled a school portal, Bleu Intellect School Management System, designed to foster school-parents relationship.

Speaking as a guest at the quarterly CEO Forum organized by the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters’ Association (NITRA), the chief executive officer, Mr Victor Oshodin noted that the product is a software that will help school administrators, instructors, students and parents to build a single education community.

According to him, “We want to play our part in ensuring that the country adopts technology in it does and thus, the need for the school intellect portal.

“The portal is to ensure that there is a seamless form of communication between schools, parents and students and it is targeted at primary and secondary private schools.

“The issue of not focusing on public schools has to do with infrastructure as some of these schools do not have a website and electricity.

“The portal will also be tailored to meet the school needs and will be built based on the number of students in the school,” he said.

He listed the features of the portal to be: anytime, anywhere access; online admission, online fee collection, online library, automatic timetable generation, online assignment, discussion forum and chat.

Oshodin said that to ensure the success of the portal, the organisation would be partnering with the National Assocation of Proprietors of Private School (NAPPS).

The firm revealed that presently, there existed a communication between them and the NAPPS of Nasarawa State, adding and they were planning to meet the chapters in Ondo and Lagos states respectively.

He also noted that the organisation’s e-invoicing targeted at Small and Medium Enterprises would help them keep adequate record of their daily business activities.

While listing the functions as information security, easy invoicing with template, multi currency, payment integration, to-do list, project management and others, Oshodin averred that Nigeria could not switch to technology overnight; pointing out that the training of people to possess the requisite tools and skills to excel remains antidote to digital inclusion.
