Just as the Lagos State Government seems to have abandoned its 2016 threat that it will either demolish or auction earmarked 115 uncompleted highrise structures dotting parts of Lagos Island and Ikoyi, on Tuesday, the Ekiti State Government begun demolition of structures considered to be posing high security threats to residents.
The State Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun, said this while addressing journalists at the end of the first day of the exercise in Ado Ekiti.
The commissioner said government has approved leveling all uncompleted structures determined to be providing shelter for all manners of criminals in the state.
According to her, the state would also construct modern car parks so as to ease traffic congestion, especially in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
