Contrary to earlier hopes that returned President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Wednesday chair for the first time in more than three months, the constitutional Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has revealed it will not hold after all.
Though no clear reason was presented, the presidential aide, however, hinted that Buhari will receive the report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke.
It would be recalled that Business Hilights had on Monday in its analysis captioned; ‘Sectors, issues that suffered while Buhari was on 103-day medical vacation’, said one of the issues that suffered was the faith of the SGF because the acting president who headed the Committee will not submit the report to himself, being the Acting president.
Adesina in a terse statement averred that “The meeting of the Federal Executive Council will not hold today”.
“President Muhammadu Buhari, will however, receive the Report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke, headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, today.
