Aside being a money-spinning venture, Isom disclosed that the initiative would create about 50,000 jobs as transport brokers who would assist transporters get loads or help shippers get transporters would be signed up.

Also, automobile stations where truck viability would be checked would be set up across the country. “So, it’s going to generate lots of jobs all over.”

Describing transportation as one of the lifelines of industry, the CEO who spoke during the recent launch of CDA, noted that without effective transportation system, goods produced cannot get to the market, and ultimately, the consumers. The app, he explained, can be accessed from google play via a mobile telephone set. “If you’re a shipper or a transporter, you sign up and post your goods. Or you can search for goods to transport to wherever.”

He said, “for instance, you wish to go to Abuja, you go online and see what goods are going from Lagos to Abuja and those coming from Abuja to Lagos. If transporting such goods to Abuja will cost N300,000, you won’t take less.
