In line with the promises of the government in using Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to drive economic diversification, the Federal Government Tuesday unveiled the MSME Clinics.

The programme is designed to help tackle the challenges faced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

Speaking in Abuja during the launch, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo said the scheme would give business owners the opportunity to interact with representatives of government agencies with the view to finding solutions to their business challenges.

While disclosing that senior experts from specific government agencies would be present in particular locations to attend to MSMEs and give them valuable suggestions as to how their enterprise’s problems could be dealt with, Vice President noted that state governments had been brought on board the project, as it would be held in various states of the federation. He urged them to get MSMEs in their states involved in the program.

Already, there are plans to set up MSME Clinics in 21 cities across the country. The program is expected to begin in Abia State on Thursday, and run nationwide until February 19.
