Girie, 3 other Nigerians elected chairman, members of WASME board in India

The activities of Nigerians in driving the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have started yielding international fruits as a Nigerian, Alhaji Babale Umar Girie, has been elected the board chairman of the World Association for Medium and Small Enterprises, (WASME).

Others elected into the prestigious world body include the Director-General of the Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, Mr. Ebiekure Eradiri, and three other Nigerians including Dr. Dikko Umar Raddo and Dr. Ahmed M. Mohammed as members of the governing board.

The election was held at the 15th session of the WASME in Noida India.

The four Nigerians and other board members form other parts of the developing world will server their tenure till next year.

Experts have said Nigerian economy will be better if the businesses of SMEs are given boost by the government in the areas of providing ease of doing business, credit facilities and better administration.
