The government of Nasarawa State has commended the management of Peugeot Assembly of Nigeria (PAN) for its resilience, intelligence and adaptation to new trends in automotive technology to keep the brand alive.
Making his remarks during a recent visit by the Management of PAN led by General Manager (Strategy & Marketing), Mr. Bawo Omagbitse, representing the Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, at Government House, Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule described PAN Nigeria Limited, assemblers of Peugeot brand of vehicles, as “a pride of the Nigerian economy.”
Governor Sule, who pledged to patronise made-in-Nigeria vehicles considering the highly commendable history of the brand in Nigeria and PAN’s entrenched quality standards, averred that his administration will partner with PAN Learning Centre (PLC) in training youths of the State.
According to him, the youths training will cut across auto mechanics, auto mechatronics and other certifications offered by PLC to enhance the entrepreneurial capacity of the youths in the State.
Responding, PAN GM Strategy & Marketing, Mr. Bawo Omagbitse, explained that the PAN Management Team was at the Government House to introduce the brand, as well as explore opportunities for sustainable collaboration with the State.
He noted further that “what we are hoping to do with Nasarawa State is a sustainable partnership, where the broad range of our Company’s products will be delivered and supported at the most competitive cost and convenience”.
On the youth training partnership raised by the Governor, Omagbitse said after the training at PAN Learning Centre, trainees will be empowered to establish their own service garages through the Shade Tree Youth Empowerment Initiative (STYEI), a CSR program of PAN in association with partner organizations.
