Rising from a well-attended maiden interactive session with industry stakeholders in Lagos on Thursday, May 9, 2024, major players in the nation’s shipping sector have set clear agenda for the new CEO of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola.
Setting the tone in a highly academic opening remarks, former minister and chairman of Integrated Oil and Gas, Chief Iheanacho described Mobereola as a correct industry person, who is ready to work.
However, in his key lead paper presentation, leading maritime legal luminary, Dr. Emeka Akabogu raised serious issues of industry importance ranging from poor data development by NIMASA to poor information access from the agency.
Other industry chieftains took turns to voice their agenda in aspects of NIMASA activities.
In his response, Dr. Mobereola assured that his leadership will be a listening one with focus on timely achievements and growing the blue economy of Nigeria in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
