The management of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has once again, called on Main Network Operators MNOs, who are leading members of ALTON and ATON to reduce their rising operational costs by sharing infrastructures.

NNC made the call amidst an attempt by operators to review tariff charges.

Last week, operators under the Association of Licensed Telecom Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) and the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON, hinted of a possible price hike after 11 years.

Business Hilights had last week reported a joint press statement released by the duo of ALTON and ATCON accusing the government of frustrating efforts to review prices despite the rising cost of operations.

But during the 2nd edition of the West African Telecoms Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition on Friday in Lagos, the Executive Vice-Chairman of NCC, Aminu Maida, said operators in the telecommunications sector could reduce their cost and enhance service delivery through partnerships.Maida was represented by Head of Next Generation Technology and Standards at the NCC, Mr Victor Adoga.
