Following a successful general election conducted under the presidency of Sir Sunny Igboanuzue in the Auto Spare Parts & Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA), Lagos International Trade Fair complex in December 2022, the government of Hon. Ngozi Emechebe and his Excos was sworn in on January 16, 2023.

Constitutionally, his official one term of four years in office as entrenched in the 2016 ASPMDA Constitution as amended clocked one full year on January this year.

However, due to certain happenstance which has now been put under permanent control, the celebrations of Emechebe’s first year in office was put in abeyance.

But looking into his performance in the last one year in office, several ASPMDA members have scored him good in all ramifications.

On resumption of office, Hon. Emechebe in his first interview with Business Hilights said his government will digitize ASPMDA processes to be in line with modern administration. This has gone full swing according to the General Secretary, Hon. Juventus Okpala-Okaka.

On resumption office, the administration immediately embarked on flood abatement control with the dredging of all gutters and the entire drainage route that took away flood waters away from the ASPMDA via Omonile inside the SSS vicinity. This saved ASPMDA from flooding within the period under review.

The first year of Hon. Emechebe saw the renovation of main gate security house and also the repairs of long-abandoned ASPMDA operational vehicles.

Besides, Emechebe government worked with Trade Fair Stakeholders Association to fight for the restoration of electricity to Trade fair complex.

The administration also partnered with LAWMA to clear age-long solid waste in parts of ASPMDA with ease.

Statistics from the Office of the Financial Secretary showed that his administration remains the best in attending to the welfare of members.

Under his leadership ASPMDA got an imposing allocation in the new site of the Trade Fair complex.

According to investigations, Emechebe’s government returned trust in governance through his unmatchable accessibility by all and at all times.

Currently, Emechebe is working with Alausa to see how the Oteyi-Iba and Festac Link Roads can be a success such that there will be total ease in traffic both in and out of Trade Fair at peak hours.

The one-year of Hon. Emechebe’s government clearly recognized the importance of Past-Presidents and Founding fathers and made the body part of his advisory entity.

Aside lightening up of ASPMDA with solar, Hon. Ngozi Emechebe administration has raised the bar in clearing all illegal structures in ASPMDA especially around the entrance main gate and other strategic places in ASPMDA.

Within the period under review, Hon. Emechebe worked tirelessly with stakeholders to not only construct Trade fair complex second exit and entry gate facing Abule-Ado, but also stepped up the performance of ASPMDA Traffic Task force.

Also, the administration resuscitated ASPMDA prayer Group and refurbished their musical instruments for the praises of God.

Vox-Populi by Business Hilights on one year of Hon. Ngozi Emechebe in office showed that his administration has been well accepted and is enjoying massive support.
