Construction work resumes at Lagos Trade Fair New Site, But…

The Executive Director/CEO of Lagos International Trade Fair Management Board (TFMB), Barr. Vera Ndanusa has approved resumption of halted construction activities at the new site of the complex for only plot owners who have met all given documentary validation processes by the Board.

Recall that shortly after her appointment By President Bola Tinubu as the substantive ED, she observed some documentary anomalies and halted construction activities.

However, after consultations with key stakeholders on the way forward, a new revalidation process was introduced to establish and maintain best practices on plot development and land administration in the complex.

Explaining more in an interview with Business Hilights, she said “For the interest of best practices in development, we have released building development regulations for resumption of construction activities at the new site and those that have been able to meet up with the regulations have resumed their work.

“Those that are yet to resume work are currently working round the clock to meet the development regulations,” she added, saying “every developer must be guided by the development regulations as any contravention shall be met with serious consequences.

Barr. Ndanusa had during her speech at the End of The Year Praise Worship of ASPMDA, assured that work will soon resume at the new site and that her administration will soon introduce reforms designed to grow ease of doing business in the complex.

In a telephone interview, the chairman of Trade Fair Stakeholders Association (TFSA) and President of APT, Chief Eric Ilechukwu confirmed that construction work have truly started for developers that have met the given development regulations, saying those that are yet to meet the regulations are trying to meet them in order to continue their plaza development.

He therefore advised affected investors to comply with the given revalidation process to avoid problems.
