“I was in the National Team, that was late 89 & early 90, he was playing for his school team.
“I was busy with my own career, traveling around, and I never took out time to know how he was doing.
“When I came back, he has already signed for CCB (a bank then).
“Eventually the next game we had then, FA Cup game was against CCB, I didn’t even know he was in the first team, I used to hear a little thing about him.
“When we lined up, he was lined up on the other side, I was like “Austin have you finished your house chores, did you finish washing the plate before coming out, and he laughed.
“When the game started to my greatest surprise, he (Jay-Jay Okocha) was Man of the Match, he tore Rangers apart.
“We won the game 1 : 0, but it was a narrow escape.
“He brought tears in my eyes watching him play a lot of time.”
