While speaking to the press on the sidelines of the ongoing Nigeria-India Business Round Table in Delhi, self-styled Africapitalist advocate, Mr. Tony Elumelu claimed that “We believe in Africa, but especially in Nigeria. An investment in Nigeria promises a return that is scarcely found anywhere in the world and I do business across several continents.”
Also, he told the world press that Nigeria was the best place to invest and that a bet on Nigerians is one of the best bets anyone can ever make, citing Nigerian success in all countries of the world.
Analysts had expected the banker to go a bit further to give details on how the Return on Investment (RoI) in Nigeria is scarcely found anywhere in the world.
Otherwise, experts would have wanted him to link his claims on the current feelings of many foreign airline operators who have been wailing and crying for the repatriation of their trapped profits made in Nigeria over the year.
Also, he would have given further insights on why many oil majors are parking up from Nigeria’s oil fields.
Apart from the crisis ridden oil and gas, he would have explained to the prospective Indian investors what has derailed the coming on stream of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex for ages.
To cap it all, he would have given an example of a foreign investor that is currently laughing to bank in the country for the Indians to believe him.
One more thing he did not let the Indians know was his recent frantic efforts to escape the strategic incursion of Billionaire Femi Otedola in the investment space.
