Leading pan African financial giant, Ecobank has called on its customers to always be careful and cautious of their banking details.
In a message to its customers, the bank said “Identity theft occurs when criminals steal your personal information to gain access to your bank account, or to obtain financial products such as credit cards or loans in your name.
“Your details can be obtained in several ways, from letters, receipts or bank statements you throw away, to information stolen from your computer or mobile device. Tips to protect your identity:
“Be wary of unsolicited emails, texts or calls claiming to be from Ecobank or your mobile phone service provider
