The spokesperson of the Airline operation in Nigeria, Prof Obiora Okonkwo has stated the requirements for an aircraft to be registered as the Nigeria Air in the country. His statement is coming following the Nigeria Air aircraft that was unveiled by the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika on Friday.

According to Okonkwo, he said for any aircraft to be registered as Nigerian Air, it must have the 5N. He said that is according to the provision of the law. He said except for the case where the aircraft isn’t bought outrightly or there is a lease on it

He said “It is mandatory in law, Regulatory agency b(NCAA) for any aircraft to be registered and be a Nigerian aircraft, it must have 5N and must be registered with a Nigerian number and if it cannot be registered, it is either you bought outrightly or you have a lease on it.

But the aircraft that sneaked into Abuja has Ethiopian registration, a clear violation of extant law and therefore calls for probe of the bargain process.
