I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it.
But I have confirmed that the outgoing minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu just admitted on Thursday, May 25, 2023 that he didn’t know anything about the education sector when Buhari appointed him in 2015. Still yet, he accepted the appointment on the false pretense that he knows the sector and can deliver.
The question then is; how best can one define treasonable felony on a nation?
This is outrageous. Even if you are appointing people by nepotism, can’t you at least get someone that fits into the role from whatever clannish enclave you are bringing them from?
Why did he have to choose a critical sector like education for this damaging onslaught. Why are these so called leaders toying with the lives of our children and destroying the future of the nation. His response has defined all the failures in the nation’s education sector in the last eight years and he should not just go free.
Thank God for the health sector, where they won’t allow anyone other than a senior medical practitioner to preside over the health ministry, we could have had cattle rearers and marabouts as health ministers.
I think teachers should be supported and helped to professionalise the education sector, so that it is given the priority and respect it deserves. We can’t afford to have round pegs in square holes in that field.
