Ever since the strategic delivery of the first multi-storey towers in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital in August 2020 by the management of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) under the current Executive Secretary, Engr. Simbi Wabote, the activities of the agency and service delivery seem to have been doubled and highly activated.

For instance, in the last two to three years, the Board has executed industry-salutary schemes including the delivery of NOGaPS projects across all the Niger Delta states.

Findings from a recent tour of the NOGaPS facilities in the region by the elite Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) guided by the Board showed sterling deliveries as Odukpani park in Cross River State is completed while Emeyal 1 in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa is nearing delivery.

It is very important to note that the scheme is also coming up gradually across the remaining NDDC states.

Now, back to the NCMDB Towers which seemed to have changed several narratives in the Bayelsa State capital since the commissioning in 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The iconic structure was delivered with the state-of-the-earth automation system right from the entrance gate to the last floor for seamless access and security.

The 17-floor edifice came with other key facilities including the 1000-Seater Capacity Auditorium, Four-Level Car Park and 10 megawatts gas-fired Independent Power Plant at Elebele.

The power plant was constructed in partnership with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and will provide uninterrupted electricity to the NCDMB structures, the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park being developed by the Board at Emeyal 1 Bayelsa State and select structures in the state.

Business Hilights gathered that the ultra-modern Nigerian Content Tower was started in 2015, executed by an indigenous company, Megastar Technical & Construction using mostly locally sourced materials and labour.

The project generated over 250 direct and indirect jobs and created vast opportunities for artisanal skill development.

However, explaining issues before members of the touring GOCOP, the GOCOP Media Tour Guide and General Manager of Corporate Communications at the NCDMB, Ginah O. Ginah revealed that currently a crèche has been built and functioning to care for infants of staff and others within the vicinity.

On the faith of the first office complex of the Board, the corporate chief averred that there are plans to rent or lease the building to avoid wastages which the Board frowns at.

When many of the media executives on the GOCOP tour observed that even though the imposing structure looks like what was commissioned yesterday, Ginah was quick to aver that the secret of the lively ambience of the environment is rooted on the core maintenance culture of the NCDMB.

Further findings show that ever since the delivery of the tower, other real estate investors are keying in to savour the appealing investment opportunities in the Bayelsa State capital city of Yenagoa.
