Calls for Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson to join Tinubu administration thicken
As the incoming administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to shortlist technocrats that will help him deliver in the renewed hope of Nigerian nation, many Nigerians who know the capacity of Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, the current member representing the Oshodi-Isolo 2 Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, have started calling for his inclusion even though he is working on his second term at the Green Chambers.
No doubt, Hon. Johnson has been iconic in his representation and presentations at the Green Chambers especially with his recent Bill seeking to curtail the rate of going to work abroad by Nigerian trained medical doctors.
Nigerians are also aware of his hot chase of the management of the NNPCL few weeks ago over their financial books at the House Committee Panel.
Many people that know his say all these his good service delivery can be traced to his past track records while serving under three straight administrations.
While beginning with Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 1999 till the end of the tenure, he was the real power house behind the success stories of the government for eight years in the ears of infrastructural master plan and implementation.
He was still retained by the next in line Babatunde Raji Fashola government under the same Works and Infrastructure Ministry and still in former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The astute member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; Fellows to NSE, NICE; and Institute of Structural Engineers, who is currently a member of the 9th Assembly as member representing Oshodi-Isolo 2 Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives contested for return but lost due to alleged irregularities.
Whereas many of his followers and mainly members of his constituency are hopeful that he will win back his stolen mandate at the ongoing electoral tribunal, there are surging calls for the talented engineer and infrastructural development manager of repute to join the incoming administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level to re-enact what he achieved in Lagos State.
Though efforts to reach the honourable House Member at the time of writing this analysts failed, people close to him said there are strong indications based on high service delivery level and patriotism to answer a national call should the incoming government extends invitation to serve to him.

Engineer Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, a true Lagosian moved to the prestigious University of Southern California, Los Angeles and come out with one of the best results in 1981. He joined the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing as a Principal Engineer in 1984 as an Engineer in charge of Bridge Designs and Supervision. From the Principal Engineer cadre through Assistant Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer and Assistant Director, Head of Construction in 1998.
From 1998 to 1999, Engineer Johnson, having served at the Federal level with passion, dedication and power was lured by his state to come home for development and urban renewal contributions from his world class experience and performance.
With the challenging appointment as the General Manager; New towns Development Authority (NTDA) he started with the task of actualizing the plumed internal reticulation of Lekki Phase and opening up of Isheri North Scheme and other Government Schemes which he handled with great success, The height of his service delivery moved the then government of Asiwaju Bolu Ahmed Tinubu to make him on automatic Member, Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC).
From July 1999, he became the General Manager Public Works Bureau In-charge of General Rehabilitation/Maintenance/Construction of over 300 Roads across the state. Further assignments include the Replacement of Mechanical Weigh Bridge to Electronic; Capacity Building of Bitumen Storage Tank from 75 metric tons to 200 metric tons and; Installation of 500 KVA transformer dedicated to the Asphalt Plant und lastallation of 500 KVA Gen. Set.
Before he became the Special Adviser to his Excellency, Governor Bubatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in July 2007, he had moved from the seat of Permanent Secretary, Public Works Bureau from 2000 to 2003 and Permanent Secretary Office of Infrastructure, Construction, Re-construction, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Roads from 2003 to early part of 2007 when he was appointed SA to His Excellency. Apart from several honours in his kitty, including those from Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (NICE), Engineer Ganiyu Johnson has been a member to several Boards including those of LAMATA, State Tenders Board, Lagos Roads Bridges and Highways.
Under BRF, he served as the Chairman, Technical Committee Material Testing Laboratory.
Even under the short administration of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Hon. Johnson also served excellently well to further deepen the delivery of Lagos State infrastructural development master plan.
Analysts say based on his track record, Hon. Johnson can serve on a number of capacities but not limited to a senior Minister, State, Board chairman or Managing Director, DG, Executive Secretary and any other challenging office as may be deemed fit by the incoming administration.
However, we wish him goodluck in his ongoing election tribunal in Lagos.
