Sino Hydroelectric Power Project completes the installation of the final turbine of the 700 Megawatts Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant in Niger State.
The ₦540 billion plant has four turbines with each contributing 175 Megawatts.
With this development, Niger State now houses four Hydroelectric power plants with a combined capacity of 2,638.4 Megawatts; Shiroro 600 Megawatts, Kainji 760 Megawatts, Jebba 578.4 Megawatts, and now Zungeru 700 Megawatts.
Whereas the generation is set and good to go, there are questions of the ability of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to move the power to needed places.
