October 2022, shall be recognized as period strategic observations that will help in driving Nigeria’s quest to digital economy were itemized and action plan rolled out in the cause of the 2022 Digital Nigeria International Conference in Abuja.
The following observations were made from the conference:
i. There is need to strengthen the collaboration of all relevant stakeholders, and ensure that substantial funding is provided to unlock innovation
ii. There is need to provide tax holidays and reduce multiple taxations for innovators;

iii. Essential infrastructure for digital devices and internet connectivity access is insufficient;
iv. There is deficiency of funding and access to grants for startups;
v. There is lack of awareness among startups on intellectual property protection, patent, and
copyright;
vi. There is lack of improved cybersecurity laws required to protect intellectual property;
vii. Institutions of learning are enjoined to review existing curricula to include entrepreneurship and hands-on skills required for innovation;
viii. There is lack of flexible, technology-neutral and goal-oriented policies to support and encourage startups, competition and market dynamics; and ix. There is lack of established platforms required for harvesting talents and enhancing the ideation process.
