Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that his administration will continue to support and create a brighter and more sustainable future for Abia youths.
Governor Ikpeazu who stated this during the SME Start-Up Equipment Presentation Ceremony organized by the Coca-Cola Foundation for the Post Covid-19 Community Interventions Phase II held in Aba commended the Coca-Cola Foundation for their sustained support geared towards stemming infections in vulnerable communities across the nation.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere, he commended the foundation for deploying a range of resources including capabilities, funds and products to support governments, communities and local economies in their efforts at containing the spread and negative impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the economy urged the beneficiaries to put the equipments received into good use.
The State Chief Executive further urged other companies to emulate the sterling qualities of the foundation assuring that his administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive effectively.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Corporate Affairs Director of Coca-Cola, Mr Ekumah Ese disclosed that the gesture is part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities adding that the foundation is committed to providing funding and other forms of support to boost the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises who have been badly hit by the covid-19 pandemic.
Ese also noted that the foundation is leveraging on the experiences and capabilities the Coca-Cola company has built over the years of serving customers and making a difference across Africa in the planning and deployment of their resources towards supporting government in her efforts at containing the spread of the pandemic, support vulnerable communities as well as get local economies back up and running.
The event which featured the presentation of equipments including sewing machines, filing machines, shoe making tools among others to the beneficiaries attracted the presence of the Chairman of Aba South LGA, Mr Clinton Ebere, CSO to the Governor, Sir Emeka Ubani, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Capt. Awa Udensi rtd among others Aides to the Governor.
