Ecobank Nigeria warns customers’ of rising banking scam alerts
In a recent email message sent to all customers of Ecobank Nigeria, it warned that “There has been a visible increase in the number of fraudulent attempts by unauthorised individuals to gain access to customers’ accounts within the banking industry. We have therefore listed below precautionary measures to secure your accounts and keep your transactions safe;
The bank warned further that “Never dick on links in an email to register for or submit your Bank Verification Number (BVM) according to guidelines provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the only way to get a BVN is by biometric registration at a bank branch. In addition, the only channels to submit your BVN to us if already have one from another bank are via any of the following options:

Never respond to any requests to upgrade your account Or share your National Identification
Number (NIN), Personal Identification Number (PIN), One-lime-password (OTp) cr Passwords never share your card PIN, NIN, OTP or Ecobank Online login details with anyone for any reason, even if they claim to be our staff. These details are personal security information and Ecobank will never ask you to share them with us via ernaiL SMS, phone call, Social Media or any Otters
