The management of the lead industry stakeholders’ group, the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and the entire member companies under ATCON, has announced plans to hold a stakeholders’ review of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation Act 2019 at a virtual meeting on July 6, 2020.
The meeting will among other things, look at the benefits and compliance process as they affect the industry players and the digital economy drive of the country.
In a statement made available to Business Hilights in Lagos by the Executive Secretary of ATCON, Mr. Ajibola Olude, the group said “In a bid to protect our distinguished stakeholders from running afoul of the laws of the land, we are pleased to invite you to a Virtual Meeting on Nigeria Data Protection Regulation Act 2019- Benefits and Compliance Process.

According to Olude, the key objectives of the meeting cut across creating awareness about the importance of the Act on Data Protection; encouraging our members to buy into it; ensuring strict compliance; and lending our support to our members by creating a platform for discussion.
