The Acting Managing Director of 9Mobile, Mr Stephane Beuvelet has revealed that amongst all the 4G network rollouts in Nigeria that of his company comes with the lowest latency rate in the market that guarantees the best speed results.

In an interview in Lagos, he revealed that 9Mobile is not segregating between urban and rural areas of the country in 4G rollout; rather it is expanding in phases, even to the remotest part of the country.

Continuing, he averred that the need to deepen the country’s Internet penetration, which he put at 30 per cent of the estimated 180 million people, has became necessary because of the pace other nations of the world are moving, especially with technology.

Beuvelet further disclosed that 9Mobile has extended its 4G services to 10 new cities, in addition to the already existing six.

Business Hilights gathered that the new 10 cities include the commercial city of Aba, Abuja, Nasarawa, Calabar, Enugu, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Niger, Onitsha, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, Uyo, Aba and Ogun.

On the infrastructure strength and deployment strategies, Acting 9Mobile chief executive explained that “The network is purposely set up with adequate redundancies to neutralise the impact of shocks during downtime situations like the recent West-Africa fiber cuts experienced across the industry.”

The high point of his remarks during the interview was that for optimal Internet services across all verticals in the country, there is need to inject fresh capital into the already existing connectivity projects so as to enable Nigeria close-up the internet access gaps.
