Indications have emerged showing that had it been that novel Coronavirus did not ravage China, it was on target of unveiling the sixth generation (6G) technology before the end of first quarter. Though previously jumping rate of spead in now under control and reports on fresh cases are becoming low, China has lost well over 2,000 since the epidemics in December 2019.
Checks made by Business Hilights revealed that just as the world is beginning to discover 5G, China mid last year, laid the foundations for 6G.
6G speed, according to the Chinese company working on it, could reach one terabyte per second, or approximately 8,000 times the speed of 5G.
Analysts in China said even though 5G is still in its infancy, it took about 10 years to develop the new generation network which translates to the fact that 6G usage may not come until next 10 year.
According to Dr. Mahyar Shirvanimoghaddam, of the University of Sydney, flows expected from 6G would open the door to entirely new types of uses and revolutionise the relationships humans have with technology.
“The 6G era could, for example, offer new perspectives in terms of brain-computer interfaces. For example, it would be possible to use devices “via our brain,” he said.
However, as instances of new coronavirus cases drops, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology has launched preparatory work for the development of the future network.
Already, the government has also set up two working groups to oversee research around 6G. One of the groups is made up of executives from the sector ministries concerned. They are responsible for supporting the efforts of the second group, which is purely technical. The latter includes about 37 experts from universities, research institutes, and technology companies.
