Barely 24 hours after urging President Muhammadu Buhari to resign at the floor of the Senate at plenary on Wednesday, Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe in company of his party national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, former Governor Achike Udenwa and other national officers of the party, Thursday staged an upgraded protest in the nation’s capital, this time, at strategic foreign embassies.
This is as the new governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Friday paid his first official visit to the presidency in company of the ruling party, APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
Though statement has been issued on the issues discussed during the presidential meeting, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uzodinma, Oguwike Nwachukwu only shared pictures from the visit today.
On the continued demonstrations by the opposition PDP, they said their protest was against what they described as gross mathematical error and faulty sense of judgment in the Supreme Court ruling that ousted former Governor Emeka Ihedioha. They were at the embassies of the United States,the United Kingdom and EU in Abuja to present petition against the judgment.
According to the PDP leaders, they were taking the protest to key international embassies to seek their intervention in the judgement of the Supreme Court on the governorship election in Imo State.
Before leaving, they presented petitions at the foreign missions, expressing total rejection of the apex court judgement which sacked the PDP candidate, Chief Ihedioha, as the governor of the state.
