Fresh strategic opportunity to speak to the gathering of gas flare commercialization investors in the United States of America (USA) has emerged for the Program Manager, Nigeria Gas Flare Commercialization Programme (NGFCP), Mr. Justice Derefaka.

This stemmed from the invitation seen by Business Hilights weekend and addressed to NGFCP boss from the United States government, through the US Commercial Service in Lagos, Nigeria, had requested that the NGFCP be explained fully at a three-day business forum entitled, ‘Discover Global Markets: Powering and Building the Middle East and Africa’, holding in Houston, Texas before from September 30 to October 2nd.

The invitation signed by Skip Jones, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Middle East and Africa, read in parts: “I am honoured to invite you to participate in our upcoming business forum, ‘Discover Global Markets: Powering and Building the Middle East and Africa,’ September 30-October 2, 2019 in Houston Texas. The dynamic forum would bring together global leaders across the oil and gas, renewable energy, electricity infrastructure, engineering, construction and transportation sectors.”

“At this Discover Global Markets event, you will have the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with the US companies and the US government officials to present opportunities in Nigeria to the US suppliers and the US project prime contractors looking to grow their business.

Continuing, Jones said “I would like to invite you to participate in a special roundtable session, ‘Trade Talks-Projects and Deals Forecasts in Sub-Saharan Africa,’ during which you can present concrete opportunities for which you are seeking participation from US companies.

Explaining more in a telephone interview on the invitation, Derefaka, whose department in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources is in charge of driving the gas flare commercialization policy, averred that “The US had indicated interest and sought to know more about the gas flare commercialization process being packaged by the Federal Government of Nigeria under his Department in the Ministry”.

However, energy industry experts who are in the know of the September 30 to October 2, 2019 forum in Houston Texas, say it will provide enviable chance to bare it all to prospective investors on the diligent ongoing processes to commercially end gas flaring in Niger Delta.
