The Managing Director, Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN), Mr Tony Okpanachi, has given more insights on the multiplier effects of the planned lecture series for operators of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Abuja.
DBN is a wholesale Development Finance Institution providing sustainable financing to micro, small, medium enterprises, has expressed its commitment to drive funds for the MSMEs.
In an interview on Thursday, he said “The lecture was a thought leadership initiative of the DBN, which provided a platform for a robust exchange of ideas to meet the challenges and opportunities that existed in the MSME segment of the economy.
According to him, “The central objective was to broaden the understanding of the challenges and critically examine practical steps to resolve some of the obstacles that constrained growth within the segment”.
“MSMEs in any clime are the backbone for inclusive economic growth. In advanced economies, small businesses have been seen to be the driving force in achieving growth in all sectors of the economy they operate.”
More than 1,000 SME operators from across the federation are expected to attend the week-long training scheme.
