The new helmsman at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, have started reacting to the recent appeal to Nigeria and other African countries, by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on airport infrastructure upgrade.
Part of the new drive cut across collaborating with leading private sector bodies in the sector including Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and Airline Operating Committee (AOC).
Explaining the reasons behind the new approach, Yadudu said every effort is being made recall that the ICAO President, Bernard Aliu, had said Nigeria and Africa in general have the highest growth potential among other continents in global passenger traffic which is doubling now to hit 8.1 billion by 2035.
He said with the trajectory, the best way African countries can cash in include upgrading airport infrastructure and deploying strategic management templates.
