Contrary to fears of missing target, the federal government has assured that arrangements to open the new terminals of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja and Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA) by the end of October this year are on track.
Minister of State for Aviation, Capt Hadi Sirika, dropped the hint during the opening of the Legend Hotel Lagos Airport Curio Collection by Hilton located within the premises of private terminal facility of Quits Aviation at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. Sirika was quick to reveal that the terminals would be concessioned for a period of 25-30 years to enable the private sector run them profitably while providing first class services to Nigerian air travelers and foreigners.
It would be recalled that PHIA has been the project that has suffered the highest delays in delivery having started a number of years ago.
The industry players say the commissioning will raise activities in the oil city.
