New dimension to the ongoing feud triggered off by the defection of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki shortly after the adjournment of plenary to September 25 emerged this morning as the Department of State Security (DSS), blocked entrance to the National Assembly.

This according to political watchers, will frustrate not only efforts to reconvene as soon as possible to attend to pressing national issues, but delay chances of meeting with INEC management on their demands for funds for the 2019 general elections.

There has been no reason so far advanced by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo as President Muhammadu Buhari is currently away for 10-day vacation in London.

It has not been made clear on why the federal government, who wants NASS to reconvene to attend to what it described as urgent national importance by Presidential Liaison officer, Senator Itah Enag.

Observers say with the seal off and no access status, Saraki’s meeting will not hold and other hanging national issues remain hanging but at the detriment of democracy in Nigeria; a nation walking towards a general elections in few months time.
