Soyinka, Utomi, Obi for maiden edition of Ripples Nigeria Dialogue in Lagos

All is set for the maiden edition of Ripples Nigeria Dialogue with theme; ‘Rebuilding Trust in a divided Nigeria.’

Planned for next week Thursday, March 15, 2018, at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, the organizers said Professor Wole Soyinka will be Guest Lecturer alongside other prominent opinion molders’ including Professor Pat Utomi, Mr Peter Obi and Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi of the Transition Monitoring Group.

A statement issued by the Executive Director/Secretary of the Ripples Centre for Data and Investigative Journalism (RCDIJ), Samuel Ibemere, noted that “RCDIJ, a non-profit organization and partners to Ripples Nigeria, an award-winning multi-media digital news platform, supports quality multimedia-based projects in investigative and data journalism, capacity building, public advocacy and other social projects in vital areas of public interest in Nigeria”.

Ibemere averred that “The Centre believes that journalism plays a vital role as a watchdog of society, and is thus committed to holding powerful interests in the public and private sectors to account, using thorough investigations and strategic advocacy to great effect”.
