Nigerian recruited Petroleum Engineers at emerging Dangote Oil Refinery Company, Lekki in Lagos have assured to deploy the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to ensure Nigeria is saved the embarrassment of failed refinery which usually boils down to fuel scarcity when the refinery come on stream next year.
While describing their training experience as second to none in the history of Nigeria oil and gas sector, they noted that the refinery will from day one, run at full capacity without any downtime.
They promised to manage the facility in the most efficient manner.
Since the flag off of construction activities, training of engineers in batches had been going so as to effect a smooth take off on delivery.
Findings by Business Hilights Intelligence Unit (BHIU) showed that over four batches of local Graduates engineers had gone to Bharat Refinery in India, one of the best centres across the world for training in refinery operation and production.
Igwe John, petroleum and gas engineer, and Opeyemi Oyedepo, Process engineer told the management how they were made to be part of trouble shooting during their training, a development that has boosted their confidence that Dangote Refinery with most modern facilities will eradicate perennial fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
The engineers in unisom, averred that Dangote refinery would on takeoff, enjoy increased value of human asset; improved ability to implement and realise specific goal within timeframe.
Dangote refinery with a capacity to produce 650,000 bpd is expected to commence operation next year even as the country’s four refinery have gone comatose.
Recent efforts by the federal government through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to ask for $1.2bn for the resuscitation of the four refineries felled on aggrieved ears of the national lawmakers who raised questions on how previous approvals were used.
This confusion forced NNPC to apparently suspend looking for government’s fund to scout for private investors willing to partner with the Corporation in another effort to revive the production capacities of the refineries located in Port Harcourt, Warri, Kaduna.
