Dangote takes possession of 150 hectares of land for $150m Solar Power in Kano

State government has handed over 150 hectares of land to Dangote Group for the development of Dangote/Black Rhino solar power plant in Zakirai, Gabasawa council area.

The scheme is billed to cost about $150m and will be delivered within 12 months to power growing industrial activities in the commercial hub of Kano to the tune of 100MW.

Receiving the massive land on behalf of Aliko Dangote, Managing Director of Stakeholder Management Dangote Group, Alhaji Bello Danmusa thanked the state government for interest in providing enabling environment for businesses to grow in the state.

Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, in his remarks, said the move focuses towards increasing electricity supply and enhancing economic development of the state.

Also responding, the Executive Director, Dangote Group, Engineer Mansur Ahmed, noted that the project would receive funding from the company’s partners from the United States.

Business Hilights recalls that US based Black Rhino Group had been a strong business development partner of Dangote Industries in Nigeria over the years and is part of the Kano Solar power scheme.
