Though the Public relations officer of Tincan Customs Command, Mr. Uche Ejesieme, insisted in a telephone interview on Tuesday that it remains a rumour, other top officials of the command who pleaded anonymity confided in Business Hilights that on Monday, September 18, 2017, the Command swooped on yet another set of 475 Pump Action Rifles smartly concealed with connecting pipes shipped from Turkey.
The officials at different telephone chats confirmed that the banned items were discovered after the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Basher Yusuf ordered a detailed profiling of the importer of the initial 1,100 riffles which was presented before the press by the Comptroller General last week Monday.
Our correspondent gathered Tuesday evening that the container was being examined further at the enforcement unit of the Tincan Customs Command while officials of the CIU barred on looking port users from coming close.
