In keeping with his drive to deliver on his 8-Point Agenda, the Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Danbatta has visited the popular Ikeja Computer Village, Nigeria’s equivalent of Silicon Valley and Bangalore, ICT hub of the United States and India respectively.

The key target of the visit stemmed from item five of the eight point agenda which centered on collaboration with relevant key stakeholders in the advancement of telecoms industry in Nigeria.

Besides, the tour of the Villa was an offshoot of a similar visit by executive members of the market, under the Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, (CAPDAN), for improved collaboration to the NCC head office in Abuja in May this year.

Addressing the CADPAN members lead by the President, Adeniyi Ahmed Ojikutu, Prof Danbatta disclosed that NCC is working out a strategic document that will form the content of the MoU to be sealed by both parties soon as a way of pushing up service delivery in a more lawful and encompassing way in the market.

Danbatta assured CADPAN members of going ahead with all issues agreed during their visit in Abuja which he said will soon kick off with capacity building for members of the Association as solicited.

NCC further assured the traders of the Commission’s readiness to incorporate CADPAN members in relevant trainings offered by the Digital Bridge Institute (a training institution set up by NCC in 2004)

Responding Ojikutu made it clear to NCC encourage that what takes place daily at the Village transcends selling of mobile devices, and amazing technical and innovative activities such as refurbishment of ware, software development, and demonstration of potential for the returning back to life, defective devices.
