The managing director of Spectranet 4G LTE, leading 4G LTE services provider in Nigeria, Mr. David Venn has said that the introduction of cutting edge technologies and global flight innovations like provision of surfing facilities in-flight is now trending on leading international airlines.
However, in a telephone interview, he told Business Hilights that whereas the idea will be good for local and international customer drive in Nigeria, the cost of installation may not be bearable for local airlines after all.
He said one of the reasons for dearth of the facility in local flights is the cost because the services is based on satellite and several local flights hardly cross one hour which does not give time for a level of relaxation that can encourage surfing.
Venn also noted that major international airlines that are into long distance services compete with quality of services and that alone, drive passenger base especially for business class flyers.
