NPA gives dates, venues for resumption of verification, audit for pensioners

As part of its ongoing reforms, the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has notified all its retirees of planned physical and biometric verification exercise for year 2017, nationwide.

In a statement posted on its website, the managing director of NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman advised pensioners to attend the exercise according to schedules and timetables given for the purpose.

For pensioners around Calabar, pensioners are expected to be at the Calabar Port Canteen between July 17 and 20th, while those around Warri in Delta State are to move to Warri Port Canteen within the same period.

For Owerri and environs, retirees are expected to be at 4, Tetlow Road, Njemanze Street, Owerri and Umuahia area retirees are to gather at Sub-Treasury office, opposite POWA market between July 17 and 2th like others already mentioned.

For pensioners around Bayelsa, they are to move to 28, Okaka Road, Yenagoa from July 16 and 17th while Port Harcourt will be at Port Harcourt training Cntre from July 24 to 28 for their verification exercise.

Up North and especially Abuja and environs, they are expected to gather at NPA liaison office, Edo House, 75, Shodeinde Street, Central Area, Abuja from July 24 to 26, while those around Kano will meet the auditors at the Kano State Library from July 27 and 28.

For Lagos pensioners, NPA Sports Ground, 43, Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos is the centre and they are expected to come from July 31 to August 1st for those operating First Bank; Union Bank-2nd to 3rd August; UBA-4th August; other banks between 7th to 9th August.

NPA further advised pensioners who may not have been covered in the listing to approach the nearest centre to them for the exercise and advised them to come with two (2) recent passport size photographs, Pensioner’s ID card / Previous Pensioner’s Verification slip and their Bank Verification Number (BVN).

The announcement signed by the management also made it clear that no fees are required for the verification exercise.
