Dangote explains high spoilage of agro products, calls for free movement of haulage trucks
Industrialist and Vice President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Sani Dangote has revealed the reason behind the rising damage of agro products, saying time has come for unhindered movement of trucks carrying foodstuff across the country.
Addressing participants at the Nigeria Agricultural Export Zero Reject Forum (NAEZRF) in Lagos, he noted that as part of renewed efforts to diversify the economy using agriculture, there is need for the policy makers to quickly resolve all logistics issues hobbling transit of agro products both at the Seaports and Airports.
He said barring any inconveniences, time has come for Nigeria to develop special seaports for agro export, adding that “we must be competitive in terms of time”.
According to the organizers of NAEZRF, the of the new movement is to continue to educate agro stakeholders on emerging government reforms in the sector and exchange ideas on issues of sector importance from time to time.
