As part of efforts to save costs, the Federal Government is to save N15 billion annually after signing a discount deal with Dana Airlines.

This is coming barely one month after the airline seal a airline development partnership deal with the Imo State government which gave birth to Imo Air.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance and signed by the Director of Information, Salisu Na’inna Dambatta showed that Dana will offer up to 50 per cent discount on official air travel tickets.

Besides, the discount for air travel ticket for civil servants on official trips was championed by the Efficiency Unit of the Federal Ministry of Finance as part of its cost management initiatives.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government, through the Efficiency Unit, has implemented several cost cutting policies which have reduced wastage and leakages in public sector expenditure.

Whereas the Federal Government was represented at the signing of the Agreement by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Mahmoud Isa-Dutse and the Head of the Efficiency Unit, Patience Oniha, Dana Airline was represented by Head of Ground Operations, Ememobong Ettete and Joy Nwogu.

Making remarks at the end of the signing, the Permanent Secretary said the Federal Government was doing everything within its power to reduce operational costs while maximizing gains.
